Adult Workshop: Pumpkin Platters 10/23 6:00-8:00pm (Thursday)
This is an amazing two hour workshop where students will construct and glaze one pumpkin platter. This piece will be made using the slab handbuilidng method which is a process of constructing with clay without the use of the pottery wheel.
What to expect: Students will make one medium sized platter in the shape of a pumpkin, apply texture to the surface, and add a stem/leaves if desired. Once complete, underglaze colors will be selected and applied to the surface that same session. Glaze color choices: Orange, Red, Yellow, Green, Brown.
No prior experience is necessary, all levels are welcome. This workshop is for adults and kids over 12 years old.
After pieces are completed, they will need to be dried and fire in the kiln.
**Pick up of completed glazed fired pieces will be ready 2-3 weeks after the workshop.** Price includes instruction, ceramic tools, clay, glazes, and kiln firing fees. Workshops are all small group, maximum 7 participants. When fully complete, pieces are functional, food safe, and ready to use.
Class are taught in my studio at Whitehall Plantation, Fullerton Ct. Simpsonville, SC.
*No refunds or exchanges after workshop ticket is purchased.
