Have you taken a Pottery Wheel Intro class and want to continue to learn more pottery wheel throwing? Do you know a how to throw on the wheel but want to keep learning? This is the class for you! This is a two hour Pottery Wheel Half Course class. The class will meet for two separate days, each session is two hours. The class will be on Tuesday nights from 6-8pm, dates are: 11/11 and 11/18
Schedule will be as follows for beginner level students:
Session 1: Making small or medium bowls (varying on skill level)
Session 2: Creating mugs with handles.
The curriculum can be adapted for anyone with more pottery wheel experience
You’ll learn the basics of pottery wheel throwing and get an opportunity to make both larger and different forms. When done, you will select your glaze color, and your pieces will be ready for pick up about three weeks later. Pieces will be glazed by staff. After this course, a four week pottery wheel mixed level course can be taken. Potters of any skill level can sign up for this course.
Classes are taught in tandem, two students at a time with one instructor. Adults and kids age 10 and up are welcome.
Price is for one participant and includes instruction, tools and materials, clay, glazes, and kiln firing fees. Classes are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged.
About the instructor: Dianna is a Certified SC K-12 art teacher with her undergraduate degree in Art Education, and Master’s degree in Education with twenty years of teaching experience.
