This is a special TWO DAY adult workshop where you will both construct and bubble glaze a medium sized bowl.
What to expect:
Day 1 on 1/17: Students will construct one medium sized bowl from a fresh pieces of clay using the slabbing method. They will then clean it and sign it to be bisque fired in the kiln. Session will be approximately 1.5 hours
Day 2 on 1/31: Students will get back their bisque fired bowl, and you will apply glaze to the surface using the “Bubble Technique.” I will demonstrate this technique, then students can chose from a dark blue or dark purple glaze application. Once dry, a clear glaze will be applied that day. Session can be between 1.5-2 hours. Bowl will then have to be glaze fired, and pick up will be between 1-2 weeks after completion.
No prior experience is necessary, all levels are welcome. This workshop is for adults and kids over 12 years old.
After pieces are completed on day 2, they will need to be glaze fired in the kiln.
Price includes instruction, ceramic tools, clay, glazes, and kiln firing fees. Workshops are all small group, maximum 7 participants. When fully complete, pieces are functional, food safe, and ready to use.
